It’s been said before that I know very little about Girls. This time I’ll admit it though. We know they’re from San Francisco, they’re currently recording an album, and that they will be on the same bill as the equally brilliant Pains of Being Pure at Heart during SXSW in March.
Hellhole Ratrace hit us right between the eyes the first time we heard it. All six minutes and fifty six seconds of it sounds like it’s supposed to soundtrack an old mans montage in the film of his life, as a little tear falls from his eye. The swell of emotion and tumbling drums lend themselves to that big old festival sing-along vibe.
If this song sets the bar for their album then we’ll be sure to order a copy a soon as we can.
